In a time when classrooms are evolving and digital tools are redefining what it means to teach and learn, staying ahead isn’t just a choice—it’s a responsibility. With this vision in mind, WTW Lanka proudly launched its latest education initiative, “AI for Educators”—a forward-thinking project designed to introduce artificial intelligence to the heart of the education system in a practical, accessible, and deeply meaningful way.
The inaugural session of the project marked a powerful beginning. Held for the Zonal Deputy Directors and Subject Directors of the Negombo Educational Zone, this workshop brought together some of the most influential figures in the academic landscape—those who guide, mentor, and support thousands of teachers across the region. From Mathematics and English to Information Technology, Science, and Aesthetic subjects, the diversity of disciplines represented underscored the shared recognition that AI is no longer just a tool for the tech-savvy, but a resource that can benefit every corner of the education system.
The session was immersive, energizing, and eye-opening. What made it truly impactful was not just the content, but how it was delivered. Participants were introduced to simple yet powerful AI tools that could support their day-to-day work—helping them plan more effectively, communicate more clearly, and inspire creativity in their teaching approaches. The environment was alive with curiosity and excitement, as attendees explored how AI could transform their workflows, simplify complex educational tasks, and create more space for innovation in their leadership.
There was a tangible shift in mindset as the session progressed—from uncertainty to possibility, from doubt to discovery. Educators who had once viewed AI as something distant or overly technical left the session with a sense of confidence and purpose. They didn’t just learn about AI—they experienced how it could be woven into their existing responsibilities without overwhelming or replacing the human heart of education.
The success of this session was further strengthened through the valued support of our collaborative partner, SLIIT City Uni, whose trainer brought expertise, enthusiasm, and clarity that made every moment engaging and actionable. Their presence helped ensure that the technology introduced felt practical, relevant, and most importantly, usable in real-world educational settings.
For WTW Lanka, this is more than a successful event. It’s the beginning of a journey—a project that will continue to grow, reaching more educators, more regions, and more changemakers in the education space. We believe true change begins with leadership, and by empowering those at the top, we create a ripple effect that touches every teacher and every student.
The overwhelmingly positive response to this first session has affirmed our mission. “AI for Educators” is not just timely—it’s necessary. And this is only the beginning. Together, we’re building an education system that embraces technology, uplifts its leaders, and moves confidently toward a future where every child learns from an empowered, informed, and inspired teacher.
