BACK TO SCHOOL

The floodwaters have gone down, and the cameras have moved on. But for thousands of children in Sri Lanka, the loss is only beginning.

In one night, the water took everything — their beds, clothes, memories… and their school lives. Many now sit in ruined houses with empty hands. No school bags. No books. No uniform. No shoes. No pens. Nothing.

Some watched their notebooks float away. Some cried as their uniforms were carried off. Some keep their only pencil in a plastic bag, hoping it lasts because they don’t know when they’ll get another.

While food and shelter are being provided, these children are slowly being left behind. When schools reopen, many will stay home — not because they don’t want to learn, but because they have nothing to go with.

Imagine a child standing at the school gate, watching friends enter the classroom while they turn back home with no uniform, no book, no pen — only a broken dream.

This project is for those children:

The ones who lost all their school belongings.

The ones who still want to learn but no longer have the means to do so.

-       Lunch Box

-       School Uniforms -Girls/Boys - (Voucher/Fabric)

-       School Shoes - (Voucher)

To most of us, these are just simple items.

To a child who has lost everything, they are everything — the chance to hold a book, walk to school, and feel hope again.
