Strengthening Voices in Jaffna
WTW Lanka, together with HLS and in coordination with American Corner Jaffna, successfully conducted an empowering Public Speaking Session at Humedica Lanka. This initiative, specially requested by American Corner Jaffna, aimed to build confidence, communication, and leadership among participants from diverse professional and educational backgrounds.
The session was highly interactive and engaging, featuring practical exercises, group activities, and real public speaking practice. Participants explored strategies to overcome stage fear, structure their ideas clearly, and connect effectively with an audience.
The program brought together a wide range of individuals – including teachers, university students, directors of finance, project coordinators, and medical officers – creating a rich space for knowledge-sharing and peer learning.
By blending professional expertise with hands-on activities, the workshop highlighted how strong communication skills can empower individuals to excel in their careers, studies, and community initiatives. The session was hosted at Humedica Lanka, a humanitarian NGO engaged in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and sustainable development across Sri Lanka, providing the ideal setting for such an impactful program. Coordination was supported by American Corner Jaffna, part of the American Spaces network backed by the U.S. Embassy in Sri Lanka, which serves as a hub for education, cultural exchange, and dialogue.
