Mental Health and Community Support

Why Invest in Mental Health and Community Support?

Mental health is crucial for overall well-being, yet it often receives inadequate attention in development initiatives. In Sri Lanka, the legacies of conflict and ongoing socio-economic challenges have exacerbated mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. These conditions can significantly hinder individual recovery and community resilience. Addressing mental health is essential not just for the affected individuals but for the broader goal of community strengthening and sustainable development.

How We're Address These Needs

Our project is dedicated to improving mental health in Sri Lanka through awareness campaigns to reduce stigma, establishment of community-based support systems, and integration of mental health services into existing healthcare frameworks. We engage with communities via workshops, collaborate with both local and international organizations, and establish resource centers for counseling and crisis management. Training community health workers and implementing feedback mechanisms ensure our interventions are effective and responsive to the community’s needs.
